Born and raised in the City of Danbury, Mark Boughton has spent the majority of his life serving his hometown community.
After graduating from Danbury High School, Mark joined the United States Army Reserve to fulfill his lifelong passion for serving our country. During his time in the reserve, Mark achieved the rank of Sergeant.
In 1987, he began teaching Social Studies at Danbury High School. While still teaching high school, Mark began his career in public service. He served on the Danbury Planning Commission from 1995-1998 until his election to the State Legislature in 1998. He served as State Representative for the 138th District of Connecticut until he won his first mayoral election in 2001.
Mark has won the last 9 straight elections and continues to proudly serve the Danbury community with his mission of "people over politics."
In addition to serving our community, Mark owned and operated a small business for a number of years and, to this day, he continues to advocate on behalf of small businesses and business owners.
